I hope you are having a very creative day today. Just a reminder to be sure and grab the free letter C from the website this week only. Just scroll down to the bottom of the home page.
I have been searching for another venue for Embroidery It. I shouldn’t say “another” when what I really mean is a second venue, something in addition to Etsy.
I’ve been searching high and low for some time now. Sometimes the venue wouldn’t be able to do instant digital downloads. Sometimes the venue was just too costly.
Yet I’ve been listening to you. A handful of you, for different reasons, just don’t care for Etsy. I get that. I have a special place in my heart for Etsy, though we’ve had the occasional issue, but it isn’t perfect. Probably no place on the internet is.
After months of searching, I have found a new place to sell machine embroidery designs, and that place is Zibbet. It is not free, but it is a lower cost than many places and it does have instant download for digital files. It has a modern interface and I really like how I can now place one item in multiple sections. For instance, I can place a Christmas in-the-hoop design in both the categories for Christmas Embroidery as well as in the hoop. It will make items easier to find. That is one thing that Etsy did not allow for.
Zibbet, the website is actually 10 years old now. It is based in Sydney, Australia and has an excellent reputation. The website is secure and they have been improving things for both buyers and sellers greatly over the course of time.
You are probably wondering why I just don’t sell things here on this website. Well, I may. But this website is far from perfect too and even though I’ve built it up to what it is today, going to a full e-commerce store is another big jump. It is a dream of mine to eventually have that.
Here is a screen shot of my Zibbet shop. When you click on “Shop” the categories are right their front and center. The photos are larger and the workings of it are more modern.
One item to note. Some of you LOVE Etsy. I’m not leaving Etsy and the one thing I promise. Prices WILL be the same in both locations.
Not everything is available on Zibbet just yet. It is going to take me some time to get things over there, but from this point forward, all new designs will be available in both locations.
If you plan to make a purchase, would you do me a favor and consider Zibbet. Then let me know how your shopping experience was over there. I would truly appreciate it.
And most importantly, be it Zibbet or be it Etsy, I appreciate YOU! Thank you for helping me and walking on this journey with me.
There is nothing better than to spend time crafting and what fun to mix other things with machine embroidery!
Remember these little cuties?
Well, I took two of the flower designs that remind me of mums and did them up again. (There are 4 different flowers and one set of leaves in the set)
For the centers though, I didn’t want to use candy. (although I made one from candy) I started looking through my button stash and couldn’t find any large dark buttons. For me to drive into Grand Rapids is about a 30 minute trip one way. It was time to shop from what I had at home.
I came across a small bag of flat clear glass pebbles that are just over 1″ in diameter. They came from the floral department at either Hobby Lobby or Walmart. I don’t remember any longer. Since you could see right through them and I wanted the flowers to have a dark center I started looking through some scrapbboking paper. I used to be an avid scrapbooker.
I found a dark small print and using clear glue, glued the paper to the bottom of the pebbles and then trimmed around them.
The flowers were embroidered onto fall colored felt. I used dark brown thread on all the flowers and dark green for the leaves. Then the pebbles were glued to the center of the flowers. The flowers were glued onto bamboo sticks and the leaves glued on the sticks as well.
I love how these turned out and how just changing the felt gave them a whole new look. An entire bouquet of machine embroidery flowers were made in about an hour!
Another fun idea would be to glue them onto pens and give them as a gift with a cute notepad!
If you are interested in the flowers, you can find them on Etsy and on Zibbet.

It’s Fall! I love fall with the only exception that it means winter is on it’s way. (winter being my least favorite season)
The leaves on the trees are just ever so slightly changing right now and I’ve spent the last couple of days getting out the fall decor to cozy up the house a bit.
It seems that everyone is crazy about all things pumpkin. Starbucks has their pumpkin spice latte. I even saw some pumpkin scented lotion and soap at the store the other day.
There are two sizes. One is 5″ and will fit in your 5 x 7 hoop and the other is 8″ for those of you who have the bigger hoops.
I stitched it out on hardanger cloth and put it in an embroidery hoop. Then I found a scrap of black gingham ribbon and made a bow. I topped the bow with a button strung with baker’s twine and also tied it in a bow. I’m lovin’ how it says fall!
School has started and cooler temperatures are happening here in Michigan.
I feel the need to spend time in the kitchen whipping up comfort foods. The Embroidery JAM Fall set makes a perfect muffin topper when making the small size. To learn more about Embroidery JAM, you can read this post here, but basically it is a mix and match of designs as you please.
I want to share with you my recipe for these jelly muffins that are a hit at our home and so pretty to give to a neighbor. A pretty embroidered fall muffin topper makes them a quick sale at church and school bake sales!
Jelly Muffins
1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg beaten
3/4 cup milk
1/3 cup cooking oil
jelly
In a large mixing bowl, stir together the dry ingredients. In a small bowl combine the wet ingredients except for the jelly.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients all at once and stir until just moistened. Better should be lumpy.
Grease muffin cups or line with paper cups and fill 2/3 full
Spoon 1 teaspoon jelly atop batter in each muffin cup.
Bake in a 400 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes or till golden.
If you know someone getting ready to have a baby or are hosting a baby shower or gender reveal party here is a sweet party favor you can make for the guests.
There are 4 designs in the Baby Gift Box Set. Heaven Sent, It’s a Boy, It’s a Girl, and ? for those who either don’t know the sex of their baby or want to keep it a secret.
I put candy in these little gift boxes, but they can hold pacifiers, teething rings, and even a newborn size onesie rolled up tightly will fit.
These boxes are made in your 5 x 7 hoop and require only one piece of felt cut 5 1/2″ square and one piece of fabric also cut 5 1/2″ square. Finally one piece of ribbon cut 12″ is all you need.
There is no additional sewing required.
It is a fun project while waiting for that precious little one.
For those of us here in the Northern hemisphere, fall is approaching. Honestly, I’m envious of you down south because spring is my favorite season. I know that when fall approaches it means winter is not far behind and Michigan winters can be brutal.
Enough of that talk, lets just get ready for fall with these sweet Maple Leaf in-the-hoop coasters made on your embroidery machine using your 4 x 4 hoop.
They are made using felt and are perfect to set your hot mug of apple cider, coffee or hot chocolate on.
You can whip up a set of these in no time and give as a housewarming gift!
Get ready decorating for the holidays with these in-the-hoop machine embroidered Monogram Baskets. Make them in yellows, oranges and browns for Thanksgiving or how about red and green for Christmas and pastels for Easter?

I would like to share with you another feeding tube pad for those loved ones who require these. Quickly and easily, you may now create a stack of super soft and absorbent pads in a snap for a loved one. This design has been carefully created to be the perfect size and shape and to be fun and fashionable.
Light stitching is used for comfort. Gauze and tape can also be a skin irritant so these pads are the convenient alternative to gauze dressings. Flannel is used next to the skin to help promote wicking. An additional layer of flannel may be used for extra absorbancy.
Step-by-step instructions included. Made in your 4 x 4 hoop.
The Bear Feeding Tube Pad can be found HERE in the Embroidery It Etsy shop.
Did you know that all Embroidery It Candy Holders are made in your 4 x 4 hoop? All contain step-by-step instructions.
They are stitched on felt and have a clear vinyl window. The vinyl is purchased at your fabric store in the tablecloth section. The remainder of the designs are stitched on felt, vinyl, glitter fabric, or other non-fraying fabric.
I’ve been having fun making these little mini videos. I hope you enjoy this one!
To make it easy for you, just scroll down and you can click on the links of any you like. 🙂
I’m trying a new movie app here. It is a short 26 second video of the Turkey Candy Holder. It is now available in the Embroidery It Etsy Store HERE.
It is made in your 4 x 4 hoop and has step-by-step instructions with lots of photos. The design is stitched on felt and has a clear vinyl window. The felt for the feathers is a tie-died looking felt that I found in the craft felt section where you buy they squares of felt. I chose a piece that had more oranges and browns on it.
On Saturday I was so happy to get a chance to take mom to the AQS show here in Grand Rapids. Mom has been a quilter for over 30 years and I think some of the quilts she has made rivals many of what we saw. Friends, I wish I could have gathered you all here with me. What a fun day it would have been for us all to be together to see all the hundreds of quilts and to shop at all the vendors. Even the vendors booths were loaded with quilts and inspirational goodies.
Just sit back get a cup of coffee and enjoy scrolling through the photos. There were literally hundreds and hundreds of quilts and so here are different ones that spoke to me in different ways.
Finally, HERE is my post from my last year’s visit to the AQS show if you’d like even more quilty goodness.
Be sure to grab the cross stitch letter v on the home page. It is free for you this week!
As for other news. My brother and his family have been here the last couple weeks from Kansas visiting up here in Michigan. Around the table are my Sister-in-law, daughter Katie, Katie’s dog Nala, (we now have 2 dogs) My mom, Our daughter Emily, and my two nieces.
We’ve been to the sand dunes, the girls have gone tubing down the river and this morning we are going to a U-Pick berry farm to get some fresh fruit. Here is a good website if you are looking to find a place near you to pick your own fruits and berries. http://www.pickyourown.org/
